Below is a list of frequently asked questions to support your needs!

Yes! BIHC offers direct billing to many Insurance/Benefit Plans. When you come for your first appointment bring your information with you and the front desk will set up direct billing if available within your plan. If your plan does not offer direct billing, you will have to submit receipt for reinbursement through your Benefit provider.

Although our services are not covered by OHIP, many extended health care plans will reimburse full or partial fees for our services. Please check with your Benefit Plan provider directly for your coverage levels and annual maximums.

 

We accept Cash, Debit, Visa, and Mastercard. We also offer direct billing to accepted Extended Health Benefit Plans.

No referral is necessary to make an appointment with any of our practitioner.

Although many doctors and other health care workers in the community do choose BIHC as their treatment centre for referrals. 

With the shortage of family doctors, BIHC can provide many health care services for you.

 

Our Chiropractors can perform physical exams that focus on musculoskeletal and neurological concerns as well as order x-rays if necessary.

Our Team can help support in Concussion baseline testing and management.

Our Women's Health Team can support in Prenatal and Postnatal Care for both Mom and Baby.

Our Team at BIHC is trained to refer for other services when appropriate.

After you book your appointment online, by phone or in person - you will be given some forms to fill out to help the team get to know you, your health history and key areas of concerns.

You will be welcomed by the front desk who will take you to see your Practitioner in a private room. Here your Practitioner will go through your information in an oral conversation getting to know you and your key areas of concerns. You will then go through a manual assessment and discuss a treatment plan moving forward - including exercises to support at home, frequency of appointments and what type of therapy to expect at appointments - your individual treatment plan. The practitioner will also recommend if any diagnostic testing is needed (ex. X-ray, Ultrasound) and if any other Practitioners at BIHC can support in your treatment plan. 

BIHC is a team ready to support you and you are welcome to ask any questions throughout your first appointment for understanding and clarification.

Absolutely! At BIHC we are a team that works cohesively to support your needs! This allows you to not just be locked to one practitioner, but to have the flexibility to see multiple BIHC practitioners.

Ex. You see the women's health team for pelvic floor phsyiotherapy and prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care. You also see a physiotherapist for strengthening of your leg post injury and chiropractic care for your migraines. A whole team supporting your needs all in one place!

 

At BIHC the appointments commonly range from 20 minutes to 40-45 minutes depending on the practictioner.

Some practitioners work with you one on one for your whole visit & some practitioners have PTA's supporting for portions the visit.

Depending on your time and personal needs you can speak to front desk about who might be a good match.
